Regional Development Forums are the second most important dialogue mechanism of the CIMC Secretariat. Forum locations allow for the CIMC to bring the forums down to the people to ensure that people in the respective regions are given wider options to participate in the discussions and bring forward development oriented recommendations relevant to their requirements.

The CIMC is considered a relevant and only appropriate mechanism to facilitate policy dialogue between government, its partners and citizens and is the only appropriate mechanism recognised by government that can be used by stakeholders to express their opinions concerning government policies and legislation and to bring government to the people.

Hence the CIMC through the regional forums allows that opportunity to be maximised by people from the various sectors participating and discussing development policy matters from regional perspectives. Discussions on development policy matters are also done through sectoral committees and working groups.

The CIMC is also tasked to oversee and co-ordinate implementation of the recommendations endorsed by the forums and promote constructive, collaborative and practical policy approaches to tackle some of the country’s persistent development problems. The government should be commended for putting in place a unique mechanism that brings Government down to the people and bridges the various sectors in society.

All reports of regional gatherings will be availed here as they are compiled.
